Heather Wiley Starankovic, CAP®, CFRE

Heather leads comprehensive campaign planning and management, major and transformational gifts services and planned giving services.  Heather also has expertise in assessing and building philanthropy programs, pipeline development and systemization of health care philanthropy.

Across her more than 20-year philanthropy career, Heather has advanced the missions of large academic medical centers, regional medical centers and community hospitals.  Prior to joining Accordant, Heather led fund development for a $150 million Centennial Campaign at one of the nation’s largest integrated health care systems during which the philanthropy program raised more than $50 million in pledges. Previously, at a large academic medical center, Heather served 19 clinical departments during a $4.3 billion campaign–meeting and exceeding production goals each year.  Heather has also trained, mentored and led philanthropy organizations through multiple mergers and reorganizations.

Heather holds a Master’s Degree in Public Culture with a focus on non-profit management from the University of Pennsylvania and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP) from the American College with additional management and fundraising certificates from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned dual Bachelor’s Degrees with honors in Anthropology and Art History at Kent State University.  Heather has achieved certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
